About Bear in a Box

Bear in a Box is the Pacific Northwests premier Chainsaw Carving Gallery. Over 800 unique carvings, crafted by more than 40 individual carvers, are on display at any given time. We offer an extremely diverse and ever changing selection of chainsaw carvings including eagles, owls, dogs, cats, aquatic and wild animals, keepsake quality custom benches and tables, and of course, bears. All of our carvings are available for purchase and are priced according to size and complexity of the carving.

Located in cozy Allyn, WA Bear in a Box is just a short 45 minute drive from Tacoma. It's a great place to visit, and there's always something for the entire family to explore. Impromptu carving demonstrations are held throughout the day and award winning guest carvers can often be found here working on their latest projects. Why not stop by for a visit.?

The George Kenny School of Chainsaw Carving is also located onsite. GKSCC is considered by many to be the finest school of its kind anywhere. The school has trained and certified more than 300 carvers from around the globe. 3 day group and individual classes are available, and no prior experience or even any artistic skill is required.
